Rail
safety

At Arc Infrastructure, we believe that delivering the rail safety message is just as important as teaching our children how to cross a road or to wear a helmet when riding a bike.

Each year there are around 1000 near hits at level crossings and more than 5000 instances of trespass and vandalism reported on rail networks around Australia, with many more going unreported. Sadly, a large number of these instances involve young people.

We are committed to fostering a culture of safety both on and off the tracks, and to ensuring the safety of the communities that surround our network.

Rail Safety Week
competition

Each year Arc participates in Rail Safety Week, an annual community awareness week held in August design to engage the community in safe rail practices.

To promote Rail Safety Week, Arc Infrastructure offers the opportunity for primary schools to enter to win a free excursion with our community partner, the Constable Care Safety School. The Safety School enables children to explore real-life transport risks and practice road, rail, pedestrian, bike and public transport safety skills in a safe, realistic urban environment.

To be notified when the next Rail Safety Week competition opens, please sign up to our newsletter using the form at the bottom of the page.

TrackSAFE Foundation resources

As a member of the TrackSAFE Foundation, we contributed to the development of the TrackSAFE Education resources, the first national rail safety education initiative for primary and high school students.
